Wildlife management has always been an important part of the 9,000 acre Holman Ranch. White-tailed Deer and Rio Grande Turkey are native to the ranch. Scimitar-horned Oryx and Addax were purchased in 2008 and axis migrated onto the ranch in 2010. Today our Scimitar-horned Oryx and addax populations are each approximately 45 head. The Axis population varies as the ranch is not high fenced.
Scimitar-horned Oryx, Addax and Axis hunts are guided year-round except during White-tailed Deer rifle season. The Holman Ranch is located 25 miles south of Sonora, Texas. Sonora is located on Interstate 10 west of San Antonio. Terrain includes rolling limestone hills with live oak, cedar and mesquite. Considerable effort has been made to improve the native habitat for the benefit of the wildlife and livestock.
